Chapter 18

The number of man is six hundred and sixteen, 616, because this is the pattern man liveth by; as I shall expound;
On the Sixth Day, God created Adam first, and then Eve as his counterpart from one of his ribs;
with Adam being the greater Sixth Day creation, and Eve being the lesser Sixth Day creation.
Thus saith Paul, 'The wives! to your own husbands subject yourselves, as to the Lord, because the husband is head of the wife,
as also the Christ [is] head of the assembly, and he is savior of the body, but even as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also [are] the wives to their own husbands in everything;'
for the two are joined in one flesh, and sanctified in marriage by God, according as the Lord saith — 'What therefore God did join together, let not man put asunder;'
with man created in the image of God — whose number is One; And the virgin, as 616, being to himself a counterpart — in God, 'anxious for the things of the Lord, and how he shall please the Lord,' saith Paul.
Another example of how man liveth according to the pattern of 616, cometh from the Instructions of Moses, which we no longer may follow, as Paul saith —
'for as many as are of works of law are under a curse, for it hath been written, 'Cursed [is] every one who is not remaining in all things that have been written in the Book of the Law — to do them,'
and that in law no one is declared righteous with God, is evident, because, 'The righteous by faith shall live;'
and the law is not by faith, but — 'The man who did them shall live by them.''
Under the Instructions of Moses, all men work six days, and keep holy one day, the Sabbath, to rest before God Almighty, with the Sabbath created for man by God.
Also, the Jews live by the six hundred and thirteen commands of the old covenant given unto them through Moses,
and the Christians live by the same law in the spirit according to the two commands of faith, and the new command that any one who is speaking evil of the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven in this age nor the age to come.
The pattern doth manifest again in the books of the Holy Writings, with sixty-six books created from the thirty-nine natural divisions of the old covenant and twenty-seven of the new covenant; (To the Jew first, as the men first intrusted with the oracles of God);
and one book as the secret of God, the most holy of them all, written by one who is of the nations and hath a Greek name.
The pattern expounded, which may be difficult to understand, because it is very spiritual in nature; not natural to the knowledge of all men; is clear if you follow the pattern of sixes and ones.
